There is also no scoring in this game, which I do find a bit disappointing. When you pounce on one's head now, instead of disappearing in a puff of smoke, they explode in a massive plume of parts and a fiery blaze. The water looks gorgeous, the hills themselves are alive with life, and even the enemies have been redone. I had to rub my eyes for a bit to fully comprehend what I was looking at.

The game look absolutely INCREDIBLE! For comparison sake, I threw up a screenshot of the original, it's absolutely mind boggling how good this game looks.

The rings sounds are back with their signature "pling" noise and sonic jump sound has remained untouched. The creator spared nothing in recreating the stages and layout of Green Hill Zone, everything is exactly as I remember it from 20 years ago. I'm happy to say that the music from that original stage is back in it's remixed and nostalgic glory. The entire demo is based around the first stage of the very first Sonic game on the Genesis, Green Hill Zone. The demo allows you to play through the first three levels of the game and there's no boss fight at the end of the third stage. Despite not being made by Sonic Team this game delivers that terrific Sonic feel that I've been waiting for ever since the string of mediocre and off the board games my favorite blue hedgehog has been thrown into. But apparently, the tides have changed and we've been hit with two Sonic reboots in 1 month! First the Sonic 4 episodes, and now this creation, which is not by Sega. As a matter of fact, he wasn't even going to make it into a game, it was just a tech demo for informative purposes. I was quite surprised when I heard it was even coming out with a demo, seeing as how the first thing that the creator said when he released the video was that it would have no demo.

So I finally managed to get my greasy little paws on the demo for the new Sonic game everybody has been raving about for the past few months.
